9/7: Untitled IV (The Island of Lost Hometowns)

from Excess by Games Brown

/

about

I grew up in the suburbs of Chicopee, Massachusetts. Seems like as soon as I left, they started knocking shit down and replacing it with other shit. There's a very special place in my heart for the town as it was, but no place in my heart for the town as it is. Strange that this is pretty standard, no?

The warm resolution to this mostly melancholy tune represents a place where all these old knocked-down towns go to feel useful again. Pharmacies have soda fountains, arcades are still the shit, and Orange Julius isn't owned by fucking Dairy Queen.
